Our History

PEF Services LLC began in 2002 as SBIC Services LLC. SBIC Services LLC was created to serve the unique administrative needs of the federally licensed Small Business Investment Company. We specialized in the SBIC market because SBICs have additional administrative responsibilities to the Small Business Administration that were not being met by other services firms. SBIC Services rapidly became the provider of choice for companies within this complex niche in the private equity fund industry. At the request of our customers, we began to take on the administration of their non-SBIC equity funds and PEF Services LLC was born.

Though we continue to serve more SBICs than any other fund administrator, today PEF Services is uniquely positioned to meet the administrative needs of every private equity fund, regardless of size or structure, including funds deciding to pursue an SBIC license.
